Sloppy Joe’s

This hearty and family-friendly meal is quick to prepare and perfect for a casual dinner. It is naturally nut-free, dairy-free, and can be made gluten-free with the right bun choice.
Serving Size: 6-8 sandwiches
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 18-20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2.5 lbs ground beef
- Two 15 oz cans of Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce
- 6-8 hamburger buns (or gluten-free buns if avoiding gluten)
Recipe:
1. Prepare the Sloppy Joe filling
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it into small crumbles, until browned and no longer pink (about 8-10 minutes).
- Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
- Stir in the two cans of Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld.
2. Assemble the Sloppy Joe’s
- If desired, warm the buns slightly by wrapping them in foil and placing them in the oven for a few minutes.
- Spoon a generous portion of the sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun.
3. Serve
- Serve the sloppy Joe’s immediately. Add toppings like pickles or a slice of onion if desired.
Tips
- For a gluten-free option, ensure the buns are certified gluten-free.
- If you prefer a spicier version, mix in a few dashes of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the sloppy Joe mixture.
